WHAT WENT INTO THIS RUN

Run report

See where the time went, what the router tried, and how the board ended up.

Processing time—Time spent working; pauses excluded
First complete, checked route—All connected, with the imported checks passed
Connections remaining—In your best checked result
Rule issues—Checked against your board's imported rules

Where the time went

Connections remaining over time

These are checked results from the run. The last point shows your best result when available. Plenty of paths can be tried between points.

What it tried & what you got

Hardest nets

These nets took the most searching. Use their names to find them on your board. Exported benchmarks use anonymous net numbers instead.

Compare your computers

The report includes times, counts, settings, browser details and a board fingerprint. It leaves out your board layout, filename and net names. Give this computer a name you'll recognise.

MATCHING BOARD

Reuse previous routing rules?

Previous board
New import

Bring over your main layers and Prefer shorter routes choices for matching nets. The new file still supplies its layout, traces, vias and other rules. Your general routing options stay as you set them.

Want this file's own choices? Use imported rules, close this dialog or press Escape.

ROUTING RULES

Routing rules

Choose how to route, then give individual nets their own rules if needed. Click Apply rules when you are ready.

Give surface-mount pads extra short escapes to nearby vias before routing. Escapes needed to reach your chosen main layers are tried automatically, even with this off.

Tidy up completed routes and try to use fewer vias.

Give tricky nets another go and try to untangle the last few connections. Keep the best checked result along the way.

When four or fewer pad connections remain, try small bends and shifts in movable tracks to make room. Your components, fixed copper and routing rules stay in place. You can also try this on your current best result.

Measure from the outer copper edge of traces and vias to the board outline, including cutouts. Off uses the file's clearance. Imported copper is checked too; any existing violations stay visible.

Prefer vertical routes on one layer and horizontal on the next. Routes can still bend when needed. Think of it as a preference, not a hard rule.

Give difficult fanout searches the same work budget on each computer for a fairer comparison. Use the same board and rules on both. If time runs out, extend the run until it finishes.

Advanced rules 1 OPTION

Off means fan out to a via outside the SMD pad when a layer change is needed. On allows a via inside the pad, without forcing one. Check that your board can be made that way before turning it on.

Your imported trace widths still apply

Routing options apply to your next run. Your current result stays available.

CHECK YOUR SIZES

Does the size look right?

Compare these sizes with your PCB editor. If they look wrong, choose the scale that matches your export.

Board scale
Board size
—
Via copper diameter
—

Board scale updates the measurements. Your routes and the coordinates sent back to your PCB editor stay the same.

This choice belongs to this board. A DSN saved from RamenRouter keeps it for next time.

START FRESH

Clear routing & start over?

Remove from the loaded board.

Your components, pads, connections, imported copper, board outline and rules stay in place. Your original DSN file stays as it is.

Download any result you want to keep first. Nothing starts again until you click Start routing.

ABOUT RAMENROUTER

Load your board.
Let it cook.

I built RamenRouter because I want to squeeze more onto a small PCB without paying for extra layers, finer traces or smaller holes. If making it fit and work matters more than making it pretty, this is for you.

Export a DSN from your PCB editor, load it here and click Start routing. Download the SES result and import it back into the same editor.

RamenRouter connects your nets with traces and vias. It only counts copper already in your imported board; it does not create fills to stand in for missing routes.

Just open it and get started.

Download the whole folder and double-click index.html. Keep the files together. Your board stays on your computer, and the downloaded app works without an internet connection.

The GPL-3.0 source and required notices are included in this folder. The preview simplifies some board geometry, so check your exported board in your PCB editor before ordering it.
